Neokastro (New castle) is a village of 1200 citizens in the Municipality of Alexandria, Imathia Region in North Greece. People in Neokastro are mostly occupied in agriculture and the main products are tobacco, peaches, cotton and corn.

The primary school of Neokastro has 80 student and around 10 full-time and part-time teachers. The school participated in the activities of our SPEED project by organising an enterprise in which the students cultivated and produced lavender.
